Protecting PGA TOUR Conference Rooms Without Sacrificing Transparency
Modern workplaces are designed around transparency.
Glass-walled conference rooms bring daylight deeper into the building, create visual openness, and support a more collaborative corporate culture. But when those rooms contain large displays used for financial presentations, partnership discussions, event planning, broadcasting strategies, or executive meetings, transparency can create an unintended risk: people outside the room may be able to see confidential information displayed on the screen.
That was the challenge facing the PGA TOUR across two of its most advanced facilities in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Corio Design developed and professionally installed a targeted visual privacy solution for 14 conference rooms—nine at the PGA TOUR’s Global Home Headquarters and five additional rooms at PGA TOUR Studios.
Instead of covering the glass with opaque film, replacing the glass walls, or compromising the architectural design, Corio Design installed Casper® Cloaking Technology by Designtex. This specialized architectural film obscures compatible digital displays from outside the conference room while allowing the surrounding glass to retain its open appearance.
The result is a smarter approach to Conference Room Privacy: sensitive screen content is protected without turning an open workplace into a collection of enclosed rooms.
This project demonstrates the Corio Design philosophy in practice. Corio Design does not simply install films or graphics. We transform commercial spaces through strategic design, material planning, production coordination, and professional installation.
The Client: A Workplace Built Around Technology and Collaboration
The PGA TOUR has invested in facilities that support collaboration, media production, broadcasting, business operations, and global content development.
Its three-level PGA TOUR Studios facility sits next to the organization’s 187,000-square-foot Global Home Headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach. PGA TOUR Studios officially went live in January 2025 as a centralized home for TOUR content creation and production. According to the PGA TOUR’s official announcement, the facility was created to reshape how the organization produces and distributes content across its platforms.
Both buildings rely on modern glass architecture, advanced conference technology, and digital displays.
Those features make the workplace visually impressive and highly functional. They also create a specific privacy concern.
A person does not have to enter a meeting or hear a conversation to encounter confidential information. A presentation visible through a glass wall can expose:
Financial forecasts and internal performance reports
Tournament and event-planning information
Broadcasting and production strategies
Sponsorship or partnership discussions
Employee and organizational information
Marketing campaigns before public release
Executive presentations
Data shared during Zoom or Microsoft Teams meetings
This type of exposure can be described as a visual data breach: sensitive information becomes visible to someone who is not an intended participant.
The Challenge: Glass Wall Privacy Without Closing the Workplace
The PGA TOUR needed to strengthen Office Glass Privacy while preserving the architectural character of its conference rooms.
Traditional privacy measures could have solved part of the problem, but each came with significant limitations.
Permanent Frosted Film
Frosted film is effective when the goal is to obscure people, movement, and nearly everything behind the glass. However, it also changes the visual character of the room throughout the day—even when no confidential information is being displayed.
For an organization committed to an open, contemporary workplace, permanently obscuring the glass would have reduced the visual connection between the conference rooms and surrounding spaces.
Blinds, Curtains, and Mechanical Shades
Window coverings can provide privacy, but they introduce additional hardware and require employees to close them before every confidential meeting.
They may also conflict with frameless glass systems, interior finishes, doors, hardware, and the clean lines intended by the architect or interior designer.
The result can feel like an accessory added after construction rather than a solution integrated into the space.
Replacing Glass Walls with Solid Construction
Rebuilding conference-room walls would be expensive and highly disruptive. It could involve demolition, framing, drywall, painting, electrical adjustments, and the temporary closure of active workspace areas.
It would also remove the openness that made the glass rooms desirable in the first place.
Conventional Screen Privacy Accessories
Privacy filters attached directly to monitors may help in certain individual-workstation applications. They are generally not the ideal answer for large conference-room displays viewed by multiple people from different positions.
The PGA TOUR needed a solution designed for the relationship between large displays and architectural glass—not simply an accessory attached to a screen.
Corio Design’s Solution: Targeted Visual Privacy
Corio Design selected and installed Casper® Cloaking Technology, a specialized Conference Room Window Film engineered to obscure compatible digital displays when viewed through treated glass.
The technology filters the light transmitted by many large LED displays. People looking through the glass from outside the room see a dark or obscured screen rather than the presentation content. At the same time, the rest of the room remains visible.
According to Designtex, Casper is an architectural film for glass walls that obscures digital screens from outside view while balancing openness and privacy.
That difference is important.
Casper is not intended to make an entire conference room visually opaque. It provides targeted LED Display Privacy, helping protect the information presented on compatible screens while preserving much of the transparency of the glass.
It is an excellent solution for organizations that want people to see that a room is occupied without allowing passersby to read the material displayed during the meeting.
A Two-Phase Visual Privacy Project
Phase One: PGA TOUR Global Home Headquarters
Corio Design’s first PGA TOUR installation began in 2019 as part of the headquarters project. The new Global Home Headquarters later opened in 2021.
Corio Design installed cloaking film in nine glass-walled conference rooms.
The initial installation gave PGA TOUR teams greater freedom to use large displays for strategic meetings without making the content easily visible from surrounding corridors and work areas.
The solution delivered three immediate advantages:
Improved visual protection for confidential presentations
Preservation of the headquarters’ transparent architectural design
More confident use of meeting-room technology
The performance of this first installation established Corio Design as a trusted partner for the organization’s next major facility.
Phase Two: PGA TOUR Studios
In 2025, Corio Design returned to install the solution in five additional conference rooms at PGA TOUR Studios.
These rooms support an environment centered on content, partnerships, production, broadcasting, and global communication. Display privacy was therefore more than a decorative preference. It was part of creating functional meeting spaces suited to the work taking place inside them.
Across both phases, Corio Design completed Privacy Film Installation in 14 conference rooms.
The return engagement is significant. A second project reflects confidence not only in the product, but also in the planning, workmanship, communication, and consistency of the installation partner.
Jennifer Lagner, Vice President of Global Workplace & Facilities Management at the PGA TOUR, described Corio Design as an exceptional partner in balancing transparency and privacy. She emphasized that the installations supported the organization’s standards for security, function, and design.
The Corio Design Process
Successful Visual Privacy Solutions begin before film reaches the glass.
Display technology, viewing angles, glass construction, lighting, mullions, room configuration, and architectural intent can all affect the finished result. That is why Corio Design treats privacy film as a designed system rather than a generic window-film application.
1. Privacy and Space Assessment
The first step is understanding what information needs protection and how the room is used.
Corio Design evaluates:
Location and size of each digital display
Glass surfaces through which the screen can be viewed
Primary lines of sight from corridors and shared spaces
Glass dimensions, joints, doors, and hardware
Interior lighting and reflections
Desired degree of architectural transparency
Existing finishes and design standards
Installation access and operational scheduling
This assessment helps determine whether cloaking technology, decorative privacy film, switchable film, or another form of commercial privacy film is the appropriate solution.
2. Display Compatibility Testing
Cloaking film is designed for compatible displays, but screen technologies vary. Product selection should never be based on assumptions alone.
Designtex recommends testing the intended display with an approved sample before installation. Its product guidance notes that Casper is designed primarily for many LED screens measuring 40 inches or wider, while smaller displays, touchscreens, phones, and some other devices may not be cloaked effectively. The Casper user guide provides additional compatibility considerations.
Corio Design incorporates this testing into project planning so the client understands the expected performance before installation begins.
3. Design and Material Planning
Once compatibility and coverage are confirmed, Corio Design plans the film placement in relation to the screen and the surrounding architecture.
Rather than automatically covering every inch of glass, the installation can be designed as a precisely positioned band that protects the critical display-viewing area. This approach may preserve additional transparency while reducing unnecessary material use.
Panel dimensions, seams, film orientation, edge conditions, and alignment across adjacent panes must all be considered.
4. Production and Preparation
Accurate field measurements are translated into an installation plan.
The material is prepared for each glass section, with allowances for the conditions found on site. Installation scheduling is coordinated to reduce disruption to employees, meetings, construction teams, and facility operations.
This preparation is especially important in premium corporate environments, where workmanship must complement the surrounding architecture.
5. Professional Installation
Specialty films require controlled handling and careful glass preparation.
The installation team cleans and prepares each surface, places the material with precise alignment, removes excess application solution, finishes the edges, and inspects the film under multiple lighting and viewing conditions.
Professional installation helps reduce visible contamination, alignment problems, damaged edges, and unnecessary seams. It also supports consistent performance from one conference room to the next.
The Results: Privacy That Supports the Architecture
The completed PGA TOUR project delivered a practical balance between openness and confidentiality.
Protection Against Visual Data Exposure
The treated glass helps prevent people outside the conference rooms from viewing content on compatible displays.
This provides an additional layer of Visual Data Breach Prevention for financial, strategic, broadcasting, marketing, and partnership-related information.
Greater Confidence During Hybrid Meetings
Modern meeting rooms frequently function as Zoom rooms or Microsoft Teams rooms. A large display may show shared documents, participant information, production schedules, spreadsheets, or confidential presentations.
The PGA TOUR installation supports both Zoom Room Privacy and Microsoft Teams Room Privacy by limiting screen visibility through the surrounding glass.
Preservation of Natural Light and Transparency
Unlike opaque treatments, the cloaking film allows the workplace to maintain an open visual environment. Employees outside the room can still see the people and architecture while the display content remains protected.
Consistency Across Two Facilities
Extending the solution from the headquarters to PGA TOUR Studios created a more consistent privacy standard across important meeting spaces.
A Scalable Workplace Strategy
The project gives facility teams a repeatable model for evaluating future conference rooms, studios, executive spaces, and collaboration areas.
Cost and Operational Advantages
Exact cost savings depend on room dimensions, glass conditions, product selection, site access, and the scope of installation. However, an architectural film retrofit can avoid many of the expenses associated with conventional construction.
Potential cost advantages include:
No demolition of existing glass walls
No new framing or drywall
No painting or finish repair
No changes to electrical and audiovisual systems
Shorter installation schedules
Reduced interruption to workplace operations
Continued use of the existing architectural glass
The value is not simply the price of film compared with construction. It is the ability to improve Conference Room Security without losing the investment already made in the design of the space.
Sustainability Advantages of Retrofitting Existing Glass
Installing architectural film over existing glass can be a more resource-conscious solution than removing functional glass walls and replacing them with new construction.
Sustainability claims must always be evaluated against the specifications of the selected product and the complete project scope. Still, retaining existing architectural elements is often a practical way to extend their useful life while adapting the workplace to new requirements.
Applications Beyond Corporate Conference Rooms
The same visual privacy challenge appears in many commercial environments.
Corio Design can evaluate Visual Privacy Solutions for:
Executive boardrooms
Financial and legal offices
Healthcare administration spaces
Universities and training rooms
Hotels and hospitality offices
Retail management areas
Construction and project-management offices
Media production studios
Government facilities
Human resources meeting rooms
Research and development spaces
Corporate command centers
Client presentation rooms
Not every space requires the same product. Some rooms need screen cloaking. Others need decorative privacy, partial glass coverage, switchable film, full visual separation, or branded graphics combined with privacy.
Corio Design helps clients select the right system for the actual risk and design objective.
Important Distinction: Visual Privacy Is Not Acoustic Privacy
Cloaking film protects compatible screen content from outside viewing. It does not soundproof a conference room, encrypt data, prevent cybersecurity attacks, or hide everything occurring inside the space.
Organizations should treat it as one component of a broader privacy strategy that may also include:
Acoustic treatments
Sound masking
Access control
Cybersecurity policies
Secure display settings
Employee training
Appropriate room scheduling
Decorative film for additional human-level privacy
Clear expectations are part of a trustworthy project. Corio Design recommends solutions according to what they are designed to accomplish—not what a client merely hopes they might do.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is visual privacy film?
Visual privacy film is an architectural material applied to glass to control what can be seen through it. Depending on the product, it may obscure people, patterns, or digital display content. Casper Cloaking Technology specifically targets the light produced by compatible screens while maintaining visibility through much of the surrounding glass.
Does cloaking film make the entire conference room private?
No. It is designed primarily for Screen Privacy. People and objects inside the room may remain visible. Decorative film or another privacy system can be added when greater visual separation is required.
Does the film work with every television or monitor?
No. Compatibility should be tested before installation. Screen type, size, technology, coating, orientation, and viewing conditions can affect performance.
Can it protect laptop or mobile-phone screens?
The product is primarily intended for compatible large-format displays. It may not cloak phones, tablets, laptops, touchscreens, or smaller monitors. Each display should be evaluated.
Can conference room privacy film be added to existing glass?
In many cases, yes. That is one of the primary benefits of architectural film. Existing glass may be upgraded without replacing the entire wall system, subject to a professional site assessment.
Is office privacy film removable?
Yes, Casper is meant to be removable.
Does Corio Design work only in Florida?
No. Corio Design serves Orlando, Central Florida, and clients requiring Nationwide Installation coordination. The company can support multi-location corporate, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and commercial branding programs.
